There’s a lot of talk about this weekends massive rollover lottery jackpot. Some £57 million is up for grabs in Saturdays draw. Organisers Camelot believe it’ll be the most popular draw for a long time, which is good for them because as far as I can tell, despite stacks of effort and tweaks to the formula, the UK lottery is less popular than ever.

Last October (2015), the odds of getting a 6 number jackpot grew from 1 in 14 million to 1 in 45 million when the number of balls in the mix was increased by 10.

So this weekends draw is the biggest ever but with less chance of a jackpot being awarded.

So when you’re more likely to have identical quadruplets than win the lottery, you wonder why people bother playing.
